The response and recovery process following a natural disaster requires a variety of skills and resources. Qualified individuals can partner alongside Pasco Sheriff’s Office by volunteering on PSO’s Community Response Unit (CRU). In line with PSO’s motto of “We Fight as One,” CRU volunteers rise to the call by sharing their talents when our community needs them most.
CRU establishes, prepares and maintains initial disaster readiness and response to our community year-round. CRU individuals and businesses provide relief and support following catastrophic events, such as hurricanes. Sharing time, talents or resources as a CRU volunteer during an urgent need makes a positive impact in the community.
PSO is seeking volunteers with availability for emergency relief efforts. Individuals with skills, experience or equipment available to volunteer for emergency relief and post-storm activities are a great fit.
Examples of qualified skillsets:
CRU Corporate Partners are tasked with assisting their community with disaster response and recovery. Corporate Partners are only assigned tasks they would regularly perform at their business. Benefits of a Corporate Partnership include:
• Expanded business reach
• Community networking opportunities
• Giving back to your community.
Volunteers will receive periodic training, in accordance with PSO General Orders, in areas of interest to which they are best suited. CRU members are also invited to training opportunities with some PSO units.
