The Pasco Sheriff’s Office uses the website portal GovQA for the processing of its public records requests by citizens, attorneys, businesses, organizations and government agencies. The use of GovQA allows for a uniform, quick, secure and reliable format to request public records, communicate with our Records personnel, follow the progress of your request, and pay for any fees that may be involved, all in one place.
Although we strongly suggest that you submit your public records request via the GovQA portal, you can submit a public records request in person or by contacting this office by phone, fax, email, or regular mail. Please see the contact information below.
If you choose to utilize GovQA to submit your request you can create an account or remain anonymous. You will not be required to identify yourself when making a public records request via any of the above methods.
Requests are processed in the order they are received and in accordance to Florida Statute Chapter 119.
Please read the important information and requirements below BEFORE making any public records requests. This will ensure that we are the agency that maintains the records and you have submitted any potentially required forms depending on your request. Any such forms can be uploaded via the GovQA portal.

Through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program's Incident-Based Reporting System (IBR), the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the FBI collect offense and arrest data within 28 offense categories made up of 71 specific crimes called Group A offenses from law enforcement agencies nationwide. In addition, agencies report only the arrests for an additional 10 Group B offense categories.
Under IBR, up to 10 offenses are reported for each incident involving multiple crimes. Clearances refer to crimes solved either by arrest or certain other actions.
Many factors influence crime rates and increases or decreases, including community demographics, commercial or residential development, population changes, and even environmental and seasonal factors. Therefore, care should be taken in comparing different agencies, jurisdictions or subsequent years.
Also note that the Sheriff’s Office reports criminal offenses and arrests occurring within the county, but outside the limits of incorporated cities. Police departments are responsible for reporting arrests and crimes occurring within city limits.
More information regarding UCR can be found at the FDLE website:
The report Management Unit is overseen by a manager and includes a UCR Coordinator, a Case Management Coordinator, a supervisor, specialists and technicians. The unit ensures accuracy of data and completion of reports, proper routing of reports, and prepares, compiles, and submits crime statistics to FDLE monthly.
