News.PascoSheriff.com

It’s critical to protect vulnerable member’s of our community from those who seek to exploit them. March highlights common scams and ways to protect against these dangers. To help safeguard our citizens from potential scammers, we share information about these types of crimes in a video on our Facebook page. Additionally, we feature frequently reported scams in our latest article in recognition of National Slam The Scam Day. We encourage our citizens to stay up-to-date of emerging scams and report any possible scams to law enforcement.

Learn About PSO’s Youth Diversion Program

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office Youth Diversion Program helps youth take responsibility for their actions and create a fresh start! This program works in partnership with the Department of Juvenile Justice and is designed for youth who are suspected of committing a law violation. By completing the program, youth can avoid a physical arrest and criminal record, while still taking responsibility for their actions. In 2024, 512 individuals successfully completed the program, demonstrating Youth Diversion’s tremendous impact.

Additionally, Youth Diversion addresses the factors influencing the youth’s decisions, which can deter further criminal behavior. In turn, this program contributes to reducing crime and creating a safer Pasco County.

The decisions youth make today do not have to define the rest of their lives. With Youth Diversion, children can get back on track and work towards their goals. To learn more about the program, please reach out to YouthDiversion@PascoSheriff.org.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office Traffic Control Officers and School Crossing Guards met with local students on their 100th day of school to teach them about school zone safety with live demonstrations. The kids loved learning about pedestrian safety and even got to try on the crossing guard gear! These interactive activities help students build safe habits as they continue their education. By turning learning into a fun experience, the students get to remember vital skills that keep them safe and help protect their community too!
