Hurricane season is officially here and runs from June 1 to November 30. Your Pasco Sheriff’s Office is ready to respond to any extreme weather conditions we may see; however, we need our community’s help to keep everyone safe. We encourage all citizens to start planning for hurricane season now. Make sure your hurricane kit is stocked with essentials and your evacuation plan is up-to-date. Additionally, let your family and friends know what your plans are ahead of the storm’s arrival.
It’s not enough to just hope for the best; we also need to prepare for the worst. Establishing a storm plan now can save lives.
Beautiful waterways and glorious beaches are a perk of living in Florida, but they come with responsibility for those who enjoy them. Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s Maritime Operations Unit is ready to serve those heading out on the water as warmer temperatures approach, and we’re asking citizens to do their part by learning about water safety. Following some simple guidance and planning ahead can make your day on the water pleasant for everyone. Stay safe this summer, Pasco! Read more about water and boating safety here.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office hosted two DEA Prescription Take Back events in Lutz and Hudson. These events help our community safely dispose of expired or unused prescription medications. Between the two events, PSO collected 279 pounds of medications! Thank you to all who turned in medications, proving that together, we can make our community a safer place for all.
