National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month is recognized in July and spreads awareness of how we, as a community, can reduce this crime. To help reduce vehicle thefts in our communities, PSO urges our citizens to take simple yet effective measures. Lock their doors when they leave their vehicles, remove all valuables, and remember to take their key fob with them. When we say, “We fight as one,” that “we” means all of us working together to make Pasco County a safer place to live and work. While we can’t prevent all crimes, we can make a significant impact by stopping those within our control. Locking cars is a way to help achieve this goal of keeping our community safe!
When disaster strikes, your Pasco Sheriff’s Office is ready to help, but we can’t do it alone. The best way to protect yourself this hurricane season is to prepare. Pack an emergency kit, learn about your evacuation zone, establish a plan and share it with your loved ones. Knowing the common dangers and scams that proceed a hurricane is also crucial for staying safe this season. PSO provides information on the resources we use to protect our citizens during a storm, as well as additional ways to keep yourself safe on our news site. Click here!
Pasco Sheriff’s Office and community members recently gathered for our annual Capt. Charles “Bo” Harrison Memorial. A time to remember a hero who was shot and killed in the line of duty on June 1, 2003, just 15 days before his retirement. Capt. Harrison made a tremendous impact on the community and we’re grateful to gather with our citizens every year to remember him. PSO will continue to honor Capt. Harrison’s legacy by upholding his commitment to the community and dedication to serving others. Thank you for your service, Capt. Harrison.
