School Alert: New River Elementary School
New River Elementary School was briefly placed on controlled campus status today as a precaution due to people on campus hearing loud noises resembling a gun. Two adult men were reportedly shooting at cans in the woods behind the school. Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies made contact with the subjects, and they are cooperating with law enforcement. There is no threat to the school, and New River Elementary has resumed normal operations. The investigation remains ongoing.
