School Alert: Gulf High School

On Sunday, October 13, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding two users on a social media platform making numerous statements referencing a plan to carry out a mass attack. The statements also showed an affinity for those who have perpetuated these type of attacks previously.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office immediately commenced an investigation and discovered that a 15-year-old Gulf High School student had been messaging through social media with a juvenile in another county and had made numerous concerning statements. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office did not locate any firearms or plans regarding specific people.

The 15-year-old was arrested for written threats to kill and the juvenile in another county was also arrested accordingly. There is no known threat to any Pasco County school.

Once again, we urge parents and guardians to speak with their children about the consequences of making threats. Even threats made as a joke can have legal ramifications.
