Pasco Sheriff’s Office Joins Florida Human Trafficking Strike Team
The creation of a Florida Human Trafficking Strike Team (HTST) was announced today, which combines the efforts of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and law enforcement agencies across the state, including the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. HTST is dedicated to ending human trafficking and has already identified six suspects involved in a commercial sex organization in the Tampa Bay Area, five of whom have been arrested. Using the collective resources, equipment and expertise of multiple law enforcement agencies, HTST is working to reduce human trafficking in Florida and provide victims with the necessary support for their recovery. It’s an honor to be a part of this team and serve Florida’s citizens.
As our motto, “We Fight As One” suggests, it’s only by working together that we can end human trafficking, and that includes the involvement of our community. If you suspect human trafficking in Florida, contact 1(855) FLA-SAFE. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.
