Pasco Sheriff's detectives continue to investigate a homicide that occurred in Samuel Pasco Athletic Park in Zephyrhills on Oct. 17, 2020.
One adult male was shot and killed in the parking lot area of the park while a children's football tournament was occurring.
The family of the victim waived Marsy's Law protections at the time of the incident, along with any other provisions protecting victims of homicide, and voluntarily elected to identify the victim publicly. The victim is identified as Carl Branch, 32, of Ft. Myers. Detectives believe Mr. Branch was targeted for unknown reasons.
The suspects in this case are believed to be Black males from the Ft. Myers area. During the homicide, the suspects were believed to be driving a white, 4-door Nissan sedan, which has damage to the driver's side front quarter panel, which is painted a tan primer color. No photos of the suspect vehicle or suspects are available at this time.
