Sheriff White Thanks Charity Bike Ride Participants

New Port Richey - Sheriff Bob White would like to thank all the citizens who participated in his 2nd annual charity bike ride that was conducted Sunday, October 14, 2007. The 2nd Annual Sheriff Charities Bike Ride was a 50-mile, sheriff-escorted ride through Pasco County that started at Gulf Coast Harley Davidson at 5817 State Road 54 in New Port Richey, and ended at the Cotee River Bike Fest in downtown New Port Richey.

More than 600 motorcycles participated in this year's charity ride, and raised a net amount of more than $17,000.  This is an increase over last year's event, which netted more than $16,000.  This year's ride benefited the West Pasco Boys and Girls Club, which will be presented a check for $15,000.  The inaugural bike ride last year helped to fund the Sheriff's Office's Missing and Abducted Child command post vehicle.

Before the ride, participants enjoyed food, music, door and raffle prizes, which included a $3,500 enclosed motorcycle trailer, a Harley-Davidson leather jacket, and two Harley-Davidson gift cards.
