JOB SUMMARY / DESCRIPTION
Performs advanced analytical duties related to the development, installation and operation of a Geographic Information System (GIS) computer software used to create and maintain crime maps. Performs technical analysis of crime data to assist and enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement operations and programs. Duties include the operation of computer related hardware and various software systems in both entry and retrieval of crime information and the ability to compile and prepare a full range of statistical reports. MINIMUM EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Associates or higher degree from an accredited college or university; and
Prior GIS system and analytical work experience with a law enforcement agency
Considerable working knowledge/use of GIS software, preferably ArcMap//ArcView required
Considerable working knowledge/use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Power Point) required
Valid Florida Drivers License

Job duties vary, but include: 1) constant vigilance of activities inside & outside the Detention facility by use of closed circuit TV & observation; 2)classifying & assessing each inmate entering the facility to determine the level of custody required, housing assignments & participation in programs; 3)control, storage & retrieval procedures of inmates money & property housed in the facility; 4)processing inmates entering the booking facility; 5)processing, entering & tracking warrants and making notification for transport of those individuals arrested in other jurisdictions; 6)receiving, scanning, filing & storing Sheriff's Office reports & documents, fulfilling requests for copies of reports & other public records. |
